45 homicides recorded in Tulsa in first 6 months of 2017


TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Following the deadliest month in Tulsa's modern history, Oklahoma's second largest city has recorded 45 homicides in the first six months of 2017.

The Tulsa World reports ( ) the number of homicides in Tulsa is about 32 percent more than the same period in 2016 and about a 55 percent increase from 2015.

The rate puts the city on track to break last year's record number of homicides.
