Oklahoma utility raises rates due to higher gas prices

 


OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Some Oklahoma residents will see more expensive gas and electric bills this month due to higher natural gas prices and grid congestion costs related to wind generation in the region.

The Oklahoman (http://bit.ly/2sVj2Kn ) reports the typical electricity customer with Oklahoma Gas and Electric Co. will see an increase of about $9.60.

The company said it had an under collection of about $86 million by May because of higher fuel and related costs. A company spokesman says increasing the price now will limit the amount of customers impacted.
