Airport commission to vote on engineering contracts

 


The Alva Regional Airport Commission will consider some contracts with Garver Engineering and have more discussion about the turf runway during their regular meeting Monday. The commission will meet at 7 p.m. at the airport terminal building.

Following reports from the city council and the airport manager, the commission members will discuss and take action on signing an agreement with a local bank and Terry Cline concerning Cline’s lease of property on airport land. Cline has built an aircraft hangar on the land and the bank has a mortgage on the hangar.

There will be discussion and possible action on the construction of the east-west turf runway.

The commission members will discuss and vote on engaging Garver Engineering to prepare specifications to repair the drainage ditch between the runway and taxiway in an amount not to exceed $1,000.

In another item, the members will discuss and vote on engaging Garver to develop legal descriptions for land and hangar leases in an amount not to exceed $1,000.

There will be discussion and a vote on authorizing the airport manager to purchase a 50-foot aviation hose and a hose reel for an amount not to exceed $1,500.
