The Alva Public Schools would be eligible for more awards and grants if more patrons would complete the free/reduced lunch application before Aug. 23.

It doesn't matter whether you qualify, or whether your child eats at the school; the federal funding to the district can increase with the greater number of applications turned in.

Prizes, including a 42-inch TV, will be drawn for on Aug. 23 from those who have turned in completed applications. There are many other gifts donated for the drawing.
