Council accepts down-scaled REAP grant

 


The temperature in the city council chambers of Alva’s municipal building is usually on the chilly side. Everyone arriving for the council meeting Monday, July 17, commented on the surprising warmth in the room.

Alva Business Manager Joe Don Dunham explained a $25,000 compressor is needed to fix the air conditioner problem. He said they decided the money could be used elsewhere in the tight city budget so the office staff was enduring some higher temperatures. Council members suggested Dunham could surely locate $25,000 in the budget, but he explained the cost is really $50,000. Two compressor...
