Northwestern Oklahoma State Director of Athletics Brad Franz has announced a new five-year partnership with Adidas and First Team Sports, who will be the primary apparel and equipment provider for all 11 intercollegiate athletic programs.
The agreement includes numerous incentives in the form of discounts and rebates along with additional marketing and promotional opportunities.
"I'm excited about the relationship with Adidas and First Team Sports and we have had a long-standing partnership with each of them," Franz said. "The product and service we receive is second to none."
Adidas, founded in 1949, began as a small company in Germany, but quickly accelerated and became one of today's world renowned sports apparel and equipment companies. They employ more than 60,000 people in over 160 countries and produce more than 840 million product units every year.
Adidas is one of the world's largest suppliers of athletic shoes, apparel and equipment and the eye-catching three-striped logo is a major icon in the world today.
"Our branding with Adidas is top notch and we feel like our student-athletes are outfitted in the finest gear on the market," Franz said.
Northwestern has nearly 400 student-athletes competing in a wide range of athletics at the NCAA Division II level including baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's golf, football, soccer, softball and volleyball who all are ambassadors of the brand. Adidas in conjunction with First Team Sports has been the exclusive provider of apparel to Northwestern Athletics since 2012.
"Our service with Adidas and First Team Sports is second to none and I appreciate the work they've done with us and we are a proud partner of Adidas and the brand that it resonates nationally," Franz said.
