Woods County valuation better than expected

 


Woods County Assessor, Renetta Benson told the Woods County Excise Board Friday morning, July 29, that final numbers were in for the public service assessed values for 2017. The amount is up $3,200,782 from last year. This is only a portion of the Woods County assessments.

Public service firms (utility companies, oil companies, etc.) may choose to be assessed either by county assessors or ask that the state does the assessment. The advantage of going the state route is the entity doesn't have to deal with dozens of individual county assessors. Also, assessments might be more consistent.
