Dinosaur fossil found on future site of mountain bike route

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) — Colorado government officials say they found a dinosaur fossil while they were conducting early surveys for a bike trail.
The Daily Sentinel reports (http://bit.ly/2wlUbBK ) experts believe the large lower leg bone belonged to a duck-billed dinosaur named hadrosaur that roamed in the Grand Junction area 70 million years ago.
It was found on the open face of a boulder facing the future site of the 30-mile (48-kilometer) Palisade Plunge mountain biking route that will go from the top of Grand Mesa to the town of Palisade.
