Numerous employment contracts on school board agenda

With just under two weeks left before the start of school, the Alva Board of Education will be offering employment contracts to a few teachers and several staff positions. The board will meet Monday at 5 p.m. at the district office, 418 Flynn St.

Three applicants are on the agenda for one year temporary contracts as certified teachers. Eleven applicants will be considered for non-certified positions for the coming school year. The board will also vote employing three bus drivers: Stephen B. Gale, Jeffrey P. Levetzow and Scott A. Baugh. There will also be a vote to approve Brooke Meyers as an adjunct instructor for one hour of anatomy and physiology.

Under the superintendent’s report items will be a report on the state school board association conference as well as a donation. The board will be looking at the extra duty salary schedule and the extra duty assignments for the school year. Board members will be discussing and voting on a lease agreement with Ross Transportation for 71 buses.

An executive session is planned at the end of the meeting to discuss negotiations with the AEA teachers union.
