Cherokee woman charged for possession of illegal pills

A Cherokee woman is facing a felony drug charge after being arrested with pills in her possession.

Rebecca Nicole Staggs, 32, of Cherokee was charged Aug. 2 with possession of controlled dangerous substances. This felony crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to five years and a fine of not more than $5,000.

According to court records, on June 14 Alfalfa County Undersheriff Glenn Oister and OSBI Agent Chris Ray observed some suspicious activity by the apartments located west of the sheriff’s office. About 4:30 p.m. Oister made contact with Skaggs who was walking in the alleyway on the west...
