Storm forces closure of Kiowa's pool for summer

Kiowa Swimming Pool bath house had its roof ripped off in Saturday night's severe storm.
The Aug. 5 evening storm ripped the roof off of Kiowa's swimming pool. All sorts of debris landed in the pool.
The damage forced closure of the pool for the remainder of the summer. Generally, the elementary physical education classes use the pool the first few weeks of school. That will not happen this year.
As discussed at the city council meeting Monday night, the council suggested the seven lifeguards continue with other city jobs for the rest of the summer so they can still make money as the youth planned....
