City approves new management contract for Homestead

Monday night the Alva Utility Authority (AUA) approved a new five-year agreement with the Alva Hospital Authority (AHA) for management of the Homestead Retirement Community at 901 Homestead Dr. The current contract ends Aug. 31.
The AUA members are made up of the city council members and presided over by the mayor. Since its beginning, the Homestead has been the responsibility of the AUA. The bonds sold to finance and build the Homestead are guaranteed by funds from city utilities.
