Only rarely are professional athletes so talented that they can play more than one sport at the highest levels of competition. Combine that fact with the odds of playing on the best team in a given league and the result is that the probability of winning year-end championships in different sports is almost non-existent.

Only two athletes in U.S. history have been talented (and lucky) enough to accomplish that improbable feat while playing two of our three most popular team sports – basketball, football and baseball.
