Women's Soccer Drops Season Opener to Emporia State

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Harding women's soccer team fell 2-0 to Emporia State in the MIAA/GAC Challenge hosted by Missouri Western State. The Lady Bisons fall to 0-1 on the season.
Emporia State improves to 1-0.
GOALS
Emporia State 1, Harding 0 – Mika Matsuda sent in a cross that found the head of Sammy Boese for the goal.
Emporia State 2, Harding 0 – Emporia State made it a 2-0 game off an own goal by Harding.
STATS
Emporia State took 14 shots, 12 were on goal.
Harding took nine shots one was on goal.
Ashlynn Summar led Emporia State with three shots all were on goal.
Melanie Matkins led Harding with three shots.
Harding's only shot on goal came in the 90th minute off the foot of Bethany Sutherland.
