EDMOND, Okla. – The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns cross country team opened its 2017 season with a eighth place finish against some strong completion at the UCO Land Run hosted by University of Central Oklahoma Saturday morning.

In the race, the Suns finished ahead of some Great American Conference opponents as Tech beat out Southeastern Oklahoma State, Southern Nazarene, Oklahoma Christian, and Northwestern Oklahoma State.

In her Golden Suns debut, freshman Aubre Gilreath led all Tech runners with a time of 20:09.37, placing 28th out of 107 runners.
