Men's Cross Country Places Five in Top 11 to Dominate UCO Land Run

EDMOND, Okla. – The Rogers State men's cross country team placed five Hillcats in the top 11 to dominate the UCO Land Run on Saturday (Sept. 2) morning at Santa Fe High School.

Baylor Harvey won the race for the second straight year in a time of 19:45 in the 4-mile race and junior Seth Whittington finished second in 20:03 for a one-two finish. Sophomore Colton Green took fourth place in 20:18 and freshman newcomer Elijah Mackey earned a seventh-place finish in his first collegiate race. To round out the team score, sophomore Byrun Ratliff placed 11th in 20:54.

Nick Williams and Ryan Alexander finished right after each other in 13th and 14th place overall and in the sixth and seventh spots for the Cats.

After the Hillcats, Oklahoma City and Oklahoma Baptist tied for second with 63 points. Oklahoma Christian ranked fourth (88), and East Central was fifth. Southern Nazarene (sixth) and Northwestern Oklahoma State (215) rounded out the team scoring.


The Hillcats travel to the Southern Stampede in two weeks on Sept. 16. The event is hosted by Missouri Southern in Joplin, Missouri.
