After being arrested for attempting to sell drugs online, an Alva man apparently tried a different tactic along with another man. That didn't work out so well either. The two of them were arrested for offering drugs for sex in Canadian County.

Brandon Dale Harmon, 32, of Alva was arrested twice in less than three weeks, the first time on Aug. 12 and again on Aug. 29. Dywon Vaughn, 36, of Enid was arrested on the second occasion.

According to the Canadian County Sheriff's Office, Harmon was posting ads on Craigslist attempting to sell methamphetamine. Deputies contacted Harmon to arrange a meeting and meth purchase. Deputies and the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics set up an undercover location at a local truck stop in the county. Harmon texted the location to a deputy he believed to be the woman he was to meet.

The sheriff's department said Harmon had over three grams of meth in his possession at the time of the arrest. They also recovered a stolen handgun from an Edmond burglary.

Harmon was charged with endeavoring to distribute a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), committing a felony with a firearm with a defaced ID number, conspiracy to deliver a controlled dangerous substance and acquiring proceeds from drug activity. All four are felonies. He posted bond and was released from the Canadian County Jail.

Seventeen days later, on Aug. 29, undercover deputies engaged Harmon in communication on social media. Harmon allegedly told the undercover deputy, who was posing as a female, that he had cocaine and offered to give her the drugs if she would have sex with both him and his partner.

"This isn't the first time we've made arrests on a 'drugs for sex' basis, and seems we're seeing it on a more regular basis," said Chris West, Canadian County sheriff, in a news release.

According to the sheriff's office, Harmon arrived at the meeting location with Vaughn. Both men were immediately taken into custody. Investigators reported seizing methamphetamine, cocaine, Xanax and PCP from the two men.

Both Harmon and Vaughn were arrested for intent to distribute CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia and solicitation of prostitution. Harmon's bond was set at $25,500 and Vaughn's at $18,000. Harmon was released on bond Sept. 6, and Vaughn remained in custody.
