SNU falls to Dallas Baptist, knocks off Langston

ADA, Okla. —Southern Nazarene split its two matches at the Tiger Invitational hosted by East Central as it fell 3-1 (25-21, 14-25, 25-18, 25-19) to Dallas Baptist, but ended with a 3-1 (25-10, 22-25, 25-9, 25-14) win over Langston.

Against the Patriots both Bailee Turang and Kylie Smith each had double-double. Turang finished with 15 kills and 10 digs while Smith dished out 44 assists and had 12 digs. Kayla Thomas had 13 kills while Meagan Ellis had eight and both each had two blocks. Elyse Berlin had 21 digs and four aces. Makenna Hunter had three blocks.

SNU as a team though hit just .167and DBU had 8.5 blocks. The Storm out dug Dallas Baptist, 66-59, but had 49 errors on the day.

Turang led the way against Langston as well with 11 kills while Michaela Pfaff had eight and Emily Breckenridge had seven. Breckenrdige also had a match-high four blocks as SNU had a season-high six blocks. Smith and Railey Rumohr split setting duties as Smith had 20 assists while Rumohr had 12 and each had four digs. Elyse Berlin served a career-high eight aces, the fourth most in a single match, and matched the Meagan Ellis' season-high as well. SNU has a team served 14 aces which was just two off the season high of 16. Berlin also had a team-high 11 digs while Hannah Davis finished with nine digs.
