Livestock judging contest at Woods County Fair draws 51 evaluators

Senior FFA High Team – Waynoka: Chase Zook, Brooke Ferguson, Tatum Rose and Traben Redgate.

Ten teams and 12 individuals from the Alva, Waynoka and Freedom 4-H and FFA participated in the Woods County Fair Livestock Judging Contest on Sept. 9.

In the senior FFA division, Waynoka FFA placed first with the team of Traben Redgate, Brooke Ferguson, Chase Zook and Tatum Rose. Second place went to Alva FFA: Caleb Chapman, Cooper Sneary, Ron Vasquez and Ashlyn Holloway. High individual in the senior FFA went to Cooper Sneary, Alva; Tatum Rose, Waynoka was second; third to Crystal Montano; fourth to Traben Redgate; and fifth to Brooke Ferguson.

In the junior FFA division, Waynoka FFA placed first with the team of Mattie Pitts, Sagelyn Budy, Kyler Shepard and Sierra Davidson. Second place was Freedom FFA with Summer Ralston, Linsy Weber and Madison Rhodes. High individual in junior FFA was Sagelyn Budy, Waynoka; second was Mattie Pitts; third, Lindsy Weber; and fourth was Kyler Shepard.


There were six teams in the junior 4-H division. First place team was Alva I: Tara Owen, Colby Mackey, Jarin Shirley and Payden Nusser. Second place team was Alva II with Brady Lott, Jansen Shirley, Avery McMurphy and MaKale Hamil. Third place team was Waynoka 4-H with Tayen Redgate, Marlie Pitts, Jessica Goucher, and Korbin Ferguson. High individual in the junior 4-H division was Jarin Shirley of Alva, second was Colby Mackey, third was Austin Reed of Alva, fourth was Avery McMurphy, and fifth was Tayen Redgate.

Junior 4H High Individuals – Jarin Shirley (1st), Colby Mackey (2nd), Austin Reed (3rd), Avery McMurphy (4th) and Tayen Redgate (5th).

In the senior 4-H Division Iridian Hererra placed first and Allison Galindo second, both of Freedom 4-H. Those in the Clover Buds contest included Jenna Murrow and Merritt Mantz.
