New hunting opportunities offered in Woods County

Woods_H001 is an OLAP walk-in hunting area to the northwest of Avard. Parking areas are denoted by circles at the bottom edge of the area on Garvin Road.

A new program in Oklahoma benefits both landowners and those who like to hunt and fish. The new Oklahoma Land Access Program (OLAP) began Sept. 1 just in time for dove hunting season. OLAP provides some extra income to landowners, especially those with CRP acres, and gives public access to areas suitable for hunting, fishing and wildlife watching. The access is walk-in only; no ATVs or other vehicles are allowed except in a few locations where roads are clearly marked.
