Lady Bison Rally Past Harding

SEARCY, Ark. – The Lady Bison capped off an undefeated week with a third win, rallying past Harding, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon in Searcy, Arkansas. Oklahoma Baptist is the only Great American Conference team to maintain an unblemished 2-0 record after the opening week of league play.

After falling behind in the in the 12th minute, OBU rattled off two goals in quick succession late in the first half claim their second victory against GAC opposition this term.

Kelsey Bumgarner levelled the match in the 31st minute with her first career goal for the Lady Bison. The sophomore defender was able to get a knee to Jennifer Goethe's cross from the corner to even the match. Five minutes later, Hannah White tallied her third goal in as many matches off a feed from Kerregan Edwards for what would stand as the match-winner.

Yet again, a strong defensive performance aid the offense, limiting Harding to only five shots for the match. Emily Griffith picked up three saves, and the win.


Oklahoma Baptist (6-1, 2-0 GAC) now heads to Bethany to take on rival Southern Nazarene at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at Wes Harmon Field at the Wanda Rhodes Soccer Complex.
