Oklahoma Baptist defeats Southern Nazarene 2-0

September 28, 2017

BETHANY, Okla. — Rain fell the entire match in the Great American Conference home opener as Oklahoma Baptist took down Southern Nazarene 2-0 Tuesday night.

The Bison (7-1, 3-0 GAC) recorded 17 total shots for the game, but only seven of those were on goal. The Crimson Storm (2-7, 0-3 GAC) tallied seven shots in the game, and two of those were on goal.

Players were sliding around the field all night, as OBU's Abigail Parker found the back of the net in the 10thminute to give the Bison an early 1-0 lead. The rain then proceeded to control most of the match as both sides struggled to get quality shots.

Kelsi Bussert had a chance to tie the match in the 67th minute, as her free kick from just outside the box found the cross bar and sailed out of play. Ruth King scored in the 86th minute for the Bison to put the match out of reach for SNU.

Meagan Chase had a shot on goal for the Storm, and Ashlynn Pritchett recorded five saves on the night. Emily Griffith totaled two saves for OBU.
