ADA, Okla. — Southern Nazarene picked up its second straight Great American Conference road victory Thursday night with a 3-1 (25-22, 22-25, 25-22, 25-20) win at East Central.

The Crimson Storm (7-8, 2-1 GAC) got a big night from Bailee Turang who recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 23 kills and a career-high 20 digs. Kayla Thomas added 14 kills and two blocks while Meagan Ellis had nine kills and two blocks as well. Ellis also had 11 digs and added an ace. Kylie Smith nearly had her second triple-double of the year with a career-high 51 assists, 12 digs and five kills. She also had two aces. Elyse Berlin was just shy of her season-high for digs with 23 while Hannah Davis had 17 as well.

Turang had a double-double before the second set was over, with 13 kills and 10 digs in the first two sets. Neither team led by more than three in the first set with 12 ties and seven lead changes. SNU held a 6-3 lead early, but that quickly evaporated as ECU went on a 6-2 run to lead 9-8. The Tigers were up 15-14 later in the set when the Storm got back-to-back points on a pair of kills from Makenna Hunter and Ellis. SNU broke a 20-20 tie with a Thomas kill and took advantage of two ECU errors to lead 23-20. East Central cut it to 23-21, but SNU got another kill from Thomas and took the set on a kill from Turang.

In the second set, SNU led 18-17, but ECU went on an 8-4 run to close out the set and tied the match at 1-1. The Storm looked to be headed to the fourth set down 2-1 as they trailed 18-14 in the third set. SNU though responded with an 8-2 run, that included four straight errors by ECU, to lead 22-19. The Tigers closed the gap to 22-21, but SNU got two straight kills from Smith and Thomas to lead 24-21, and Turang closed out another set with another kill.

SNU started to run away with the match late in the fourth set. SNU broke a 9-9 tie with four straight points, including three off kills by Michaela Pfaff, Ellis and Thomas, to lead 13-9. ECU closed it to 13-11 before SNU went on a 7-2 run to lead 20-13. The Crimson Storm kept the distance from there to seal the victory.
