The Dunning Performance Center was dedicated Saturday at 2 p.m. at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Jim Dunning, at right, standing in front of Dr. Janet Cunningham, provided funds to substantially remodel the former National Guard Armory that was donated to the University when the guard unit was moved to Enid. Dunning played baseball (under coach Cecil Perkins) for Northwestern and graduated in 1981. He joined his father, far left, in Wichita at the family accounting firm of Dunning and Associates. He graduated from Northwestern with a double major in accounting and physical education. Artificial turf has been placed on the large open drill floor of the Dunning Performance Center. It can be configured for use as a year-round practice facility for baseball, softball, women's soccer and golf teams, along with cheerleaders and band members. In the photo above, at far left is Jim's Dad, his mom and his wife. Members of several NWOSU sports teams came up and thanked Dunning for his contribution to their programs at NWOSU.
