SNU Opens Play at Holiday Inn Classic

Storm in 17th in third tournament of fall

St. Joseph, Mo. — Southern Nazarene is tied for 17th place at the Holliday Inn Classic after the first two round at the St. Joseph Country Club.

The Crimson Storm shot a 305 in the first round and then a 310 in the second and are at 615 with the final round left to be played Tuesday. SNU is tied with Southern Arkansas.

Central Missouri leads the field with a 577 after a 285 and a 292 in the first two rounds. The Mules also have the individual lead in John Bonaobra who posted a pair of 70s for a 140. Central Missouri leads Missouri Western State by three strokes. Arkansas Tech is third at 581 while Harding and Southwestern Oklahoma State are tied for fourth at 583.

Rhett Bechtel shot an even par 71 on the 6,652-yard course in the first round. He followed that up with a 76 for a 147 as he is tied for 26th. Jacob Prentice is five strokes back of Bechtel in a tie for 52nd after a 78 and 74. Ondrej Melichar is tied for 74th at 157 after a 79 and 78. Parker Milligan and Brady Liles round out the top five as Milligan shot a 160 (78- 82) and Liles shot a 161 (78-83). They are tie d for 84th and 86th.


Henderson State is 10th at 601,
