October 8, 2017
BETHANY, Okla. – SWOSU Soccer picked up a 3-0 shutout victory over Southern Nazarene on Saturday evening, going unbeaten on the week after tying Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday.
Despite having nothing to show after the match's first 45 minutes, SWOSU showed signs it would break through by outshooting SNU 17-7 and 10-2 on goal in the opening half.
In the second half, the Bulldogs continued their season trend of spurt scoring. SWOSU would get all three of their goals in just 10 minutes to complete the match's scoring.
Seven minutes past halftime, Sandra Nabweteme broke the scoreless streak with what would be one of two goals for her on the night. Eight minutes later, Nabweteme again found the back of the net for her fourth goal of the season which extended the lead. Alimata Rabo concluded the scoring just two minutes after Nabweteme's final goal, making it 3-0 Bulldogs just like that.
The shutout now marks SWOSU's fourth of the season. Lexie Bates and Steffi Silvera split time guarding the net at goalkeeper, combining for seven saves on the evening.
In the contest, the Dawg offense finished with 32 shots overall and forced the SNU keeper to collect 16 saves.
