Golden Suns finish first at Midwest Classic

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Arkansas Tech put together the lowest score as a team in round two of the UCM Midwest Classic on Tuesday, winning the tournament by two strokes. Avery Struck led the Golden Suns with a 76 (+5) in the second round to tie for second overall.
Peerada Piddon, Makenzie Douglas and Pia Nunbhakdi each scored a 77 (+6) in Tuesday's round. Piddon tied for sixth, Douglas tied for eighth and Nunbhakdi tied for 27th. Arkansas Tech was the only team in the tournament to place three golfers in the top 10.
Over the two rounds combined, Tech the field by three strokes on the course's par five holes. The Suns also tallied a tournament-high 102 pars.
Arkansas Tech's first-place finish is the first this season, coming in the Suns' final event of the fall.
