Harding Women's Golf Places Second in Oklahoma, Best Finish in Four Seasons

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Sophomore Bryle Alcorn and freshman Kiera Smith both finished in the top 10 and led Harding women's golf to its best team finish in more than four seasons Tuesday at the GAC Preview.
Harding shot 310 in Monday's opening round and followed that with a 327 Tuesday in much windier conditions in Round 2. The Lady Bisons finished at 637, its best score of the season by eight strokes, and took second place in the team event, its best finish since winning the 2013 Great American Conference Championship.
Alcorn made five birdies in the tournament and tied for seventh at 12-over 156. It was her second career top 10. She tied for sixth at last season's Natural State Classic. Smith, who had four birdies, tied for ninth at 13-over 157, her first career top 10.
Harding junior Brooklyn Terry had the Lady Bisons' best second round, shooting 79. She tied for 15th at 15-over 159.
Henderson State won the team competition at 622. Helle Leed of Southern Arkansas was the individual champion, shooting 8-over 152.
