Newman gains season split with OC as Eagles fall on road

WICHITA, Kan. (Oct. 12, 2017) – Jamie Barkway and Vitor Okamoto each scored for Newman (Kan.) and the Jets held off Oklahoma Christian 2-0 in men's soccer on Thursday at Wilkins Field.

The win gave Newman (4-6-3, 2-5-2 Heartland Conference) a regular-season split with OC (3-7-2, 1-6-2), which beat the Jets 1-0 in Oklahoma City on Sept. 21.

OC outshot the Jets 9-8 but wasn't able to find the back of the net against Newman goalkeeper Chase Bowman, who made three saves. His OC counterpart, Gianluca Marchetti, was credited with one save.
