Ranger Dakota Driskill (58) of Wichita, Kansas, trips up Harding Bison 78 (not listed on roster while) while Gavin De Los Santos (56) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, shoves Driskill down.

ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern Oklahoma State hosted Harding Saturday in a 2 p.m. kickoff where the Bisons took down the Rangers, 34-0.

Having an incredible day for the Rangers (3-4, 3-4 GAC) and a bright spot on the defensive side of the ball was Maurice Wright Jr., who totaled 22 tackles on the day, most in the conference in a single game. Linebacker Dakota Driskill also had a quality afternoon plugging up the option run, totaling 11 tackles.

Quarterback Isaiah Weed completed 9-of-16 passing attempts for 118 attempts and picked up 38 more yards on the ground. Runningback Anthony Cota also assisted in the Ranger ground game, netting 37 more yards.

The Bison (4-3, 4-3 GAC) out gained the Rangers by a total of 417-to-201 yards, and consistently found success on the ground with 408 yards rushing.

Northwestern began the game receiving the opening kickoff and pushed the ball down the field in quick fashion, but the tables were quickly turned. Devyn Comer of Harding made a huge play in intercepting Weed and taking it back for a touchdown to make it a 7-0 game with just 1:51 coming off the clock.

Following the interception, Northwestern was back on offense and driving again, but a sack and loss of 10 yards cost the Ranger offense, forcing the home team to punt it away.

Just a minute and 16 minutes after the punt, HU's runningback Grant Kimberlin took it to the endzone from 62 yards out, making it 14-0 after the point after attempt.

Near the end of the first quarter of play, the Black and Red got a pivotal stop on 4th down where Wright collected one of his tackles on the evening.

Unfortunately the offense was unable to get anything rolling and the Bisons capitalized on it as they scored their 21st point of the half which is where the deficit would end going into the half.

Coming out of the break, the Bisons started with the ball and took just over eight minutes off the clock, capping the long drive off with a field goal, making it 24-0.

Northwestern pushed the ball up the field and all the way to the 19 yard-line of HU by a Jacob Peyton 26-yard, but was brought back to the 44 yard line on an illegal block.

Following the rush by Peyton, play was suspended due to lightning in the area, which turned out to be a near two-hour delay in the game.

Tamarick Courtney (19) of Lubbock, Texas, is out with a broken arm. We ran into him before the game against Harding and he promised to be back next year.

Continuing out of the delay in the game Northwestern drove it all the way down to the 22, but Weed was intercepted for the third time of the day where the Harding defenseman took it back to their own 38 yard line.

On that very same drive, Harding took the ball down to score their fourth touchdown of the game, making it 31-0.

After there was nothing doing on the next Ranger possession, the Bisons took nearly five minutes off the clock in their drive and finished with a field goal, pushing the lead to 34.

The Rangers will hit the road for two straight weeks following Saturday's loss, first heading off to Russellville, Ark. to take on the Wonder Boys of Arkansas Tech. Kick-off for that match-up is set for 2 p.m.
