Today, Oct. 18, is Walk to School Day in Alva. The purpose is to promote healthier lifestyles by encouraging kids and families to be more physically active. Held in conjunction with Northwest Family Services and TSET, the walk begins at 7:45 a.m. Students from Washington and Longfellow Elementary schools will meet with their parents, teachers and community leaders on Alva’s downtown square and begin walking.
