Cross country season ends

October 19, 2017

This year's cross country season has been one for the books. Many people joined and remained on the team.

One person got within five people of reaching his goal of going to state, Nate Wood. He ran in every cross country meet this season, making districts and regionals. Wood said that the run at regionals was fun. He also said it was excruciating running up and down hills and through water with 30 mile per hour wind blowing in his face. He finished his run with a time of 23 minutes and 15 seconds. If he'd been faster than the five entrants in front of him he would have made it to state. Wood said if he'd had more time to practice he might have been able to go to state.

Wood's Cross Country career is not over yet, he plans to run in open meets as the weeks go on.
