Northwest Family Services celebrates 40 years of helping families

Northwest Family Services Inc. is celebrating 40 years of services to families of Northwest Oklahoma. The public is invited to a special celebration Thursday, Oct. 25, from 4 to 5 p.m. at the NWFS offices, 620 Flynn, in Alva.

The organization started with a card table and a folding chair in October 1977.

District Judge Ray Dean Linder, Holly Henneke, Thelma Elmore Ruch, Pat Parkhurst, Dr. B.H. McKinley and John Jones were among the small group of concerned citizens who wanted to impact local juvenile delinquency and its devastating effects upon the family and the lives of the children involved...
