Rangers travel to conference foe Arkansas Tech Saturday

October 20, 2017

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. -- The Northwestern Oklahoma State football team will take the road for the fourth time this season and will be kicking off with Arkansas Tech (5-2 GAC) in a 2 p.m. kickoff in Russellville, Arkansas.

The Black and Red took the loss against the Harding Bisons last Saturday and will be putting in the necessary work to take down the Wonder Boys this upcoming weekend. A bright spot in last week’s game for the Rangers was sophomore sensation linebacker Maurice Wright who tore up the inside game of the Harding offensive, collecting 22 tackles on the afternoon, tops in the conference for the week. His 22 tackles were good enough for third all-time in a single game in conference history.

A season ago, ATU was able to hold off the Rangers in a furious comeback that came up just a touchdown short at 41-35. This will be the fifth straight year the two teams have met while a part of the Great American Conference.

Northwestern will be competing with a team that ranks very high statistically in every category across the board, so the Rangers will have to be on their game in all facets.
