Cherokee Strip Museum welcomes Nancy Denner

The Cherokee Strip Museum invites you to welcome Nancy Denner McGowan back to Alva for the opening of the Nancy Denner Room at the museum.

McGowan was Miss Alva, Miss Oklahoma and second runner up in the Miss America Pageant in 1957. She has donated her memorabilia to her hometown and engaged the Oklahoma Historical Society to design and assemble the display.

McGowan's mother and father were Joe and Mary Denner who ran the Golden Krust Bakery for many years in Alva.

A reception and viewing of the new exhibit will be held Saturday, Oct. 28, between 2 and 4 p.m. Please come and welcome Nan...
