Alva men charged with marijuana sale

Two Alva men were arrested for distribution of marijuana following a controlled buy set up by an informant. Xavier Gabriel Banks, 22, and Antonio Yvon Joseph, 21, both of Alva, have been charged with distribution of controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) within 2,000 feet of a school. This crime is punishable by imprisonment for four years to life or a fine of up to $40,000, or both.

According to court records, Woods County Undersheriff Keith Dale met with a confidential informant (CI) who agreed to arrange a purchase of marijuana from Banks. The CI said Banks puts the marijuana in his...
