South Barber FFA Work Auction raises over $19,000
November 8, 2017
Patrons of South Barber's FFA Chapter attended the annual work auction. They enjoyed a meal of grilled burgers and calf fries before the action began at the high school. Auctioneers Kyle Hughbanks, Clay Spicer and Sam Spicer volunteered their services as the FFA members climbed atop the ladder to be auctioned.
Individuals and businesses bought the FFA kids for an eight-hour work day. The funds go to help the chapter travel to events, purchase necessary equipment, needs at the FFA Farm, put on their annual banquet, etc.
SB FFA Chapter Advisor Kyle Jacobs said the auction raised just over $19,000.Prior to the auction, the local FFA officers opened the event and freshman FFA Greenhands recited the FFA Creed before the crowd.
