Storm Fall in GAC/MIAA Challenge Finale

ALVA, Okla. – Southeastern had a trio of double-digit scorers, but saw Northeastern State pull away down the stretch in a 75-63 loss on Saturday night in Alva, Okla., in the GAC/MIAA Challenge.

The Savage Storm drop to 0-2 on the year and will be back on the court on Nov. 16 when it hosts Harding at 7:30 p.m. A contest originally scheduled for Nov. 13 against Austin College has been cancelled.

Bobby Johnson turned in 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting with four threes, while A'Torey Everett and Kevin Buckingham each added 12 in the effort.

Jett Jobe added eight points and four assists.

The Storm shot 51.9 percent in the first half, but their shooting chilled in the second half, hitting at 32.4 percent.

Everett led the way on the glass with six rebounds, while Jose Libanio added five.

A Johnson fast break bucket in the final 30 seconds would tie the game at 34-34 at the half, and the Storm would again knot the game at 46-46 with 12:03 to play, but the Riverhawks would score the next nine points and SE was unable to find an answer in a 76-63 loss.
