Technician resolves dispute over prayer talk at her school

AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — A Maine woman who alleged she was discriminated against for telling a colleague that she would pray for him says the matter has been settled.

Toni Richardson, a special education technician for the Augusta School Department, says she was instructed to not discuss her Christian faith at school. The Bangor Daily News reports a memorandum from the school department released Friday withdrew threats of disciplinary action against Richardson, and acknowledged all employees had a First Amendment right to "express religious beliefs."
