Late 3s Lift No. 12 Christian Brothers over Harding Men's Basketball

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Harding battled back from a nine-point first half deficit to tie three times in the second half but fell 79-71 to 12th-ranked Christian Brothers Tuesday in nonconference play at Canale Arena.
The loss dropped Harding to 0-3 on the season. It was the Bisons' first of five nonconference games this season. Harding and Christian Brothers will play in Searcy Dec. 9. Christian Brothers improved to 5-0 and snapped a two-game skid against Harding.
Harding tied the game for the third time in the second half on a J.P. Brandon dunk with 3:20 left, but Christian Brothers got two 3-pointers from Joe Laravie on its next two possessions and led for the rest of the game, using a 7-0 run to pull away late.
Harding had four players with 10 or more points, led by Preston Anderson with 16. He connected on five of the Bisons' eight 3-pointers. Brandon made 6 of 8 shots and scored 15 points, Tim Wagner added 12, and Braden Eggleston scored 10 on 5-of-6 shooting.
Harding shot a season-best 50 percent from the field.
Jeff Larkin led Christian Brothers with 31 points, shooting 11 of 26 from the field. Joe Laravie scored 21 points, and Adam Dieball had 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for his first career triple-double.
Christian Brothers made three of its first four shots and took an early 8-0 lead. Harding answered with a pair of 3s, but Christian Brothers led throughout the first half. Its largest lead was nine points at 37-28 with 1:52 left in the half. Harding's Adam Horn hit a jumper with 16 seconds remaining to trim Christian Brothers' halftime lead to 39-33.
Harding returns to Great American Conference action Thursday, Nov. 30 against Northwestern Oklahoma in Searcy.
