Lane is the son of Dr. Dean and Cassandra Scarbrough.
High school activities include, basketball, football, soccer, student council, FFA, FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) and Key Club. He also participated in speech and debate, One Act and Superintendent's Leadership Class during his sophomore and junior years.
Activities outside of school include being a member of First Baptist Church of Alva. Lane primarily works for Nelson and Pat Myers on their farm east of town and for Mike and Marideth George in town, but has also worked for several other members of the Alva community.
