Robotics team wins awards at game day

On Oct. 28, members of the Burlington robotics team and their sponsor, Jennifer Newlin, went to the Alva Recreational Complex to compete in the robotics game day competition. The Heartland BEST (Boosting, Engineering, Science and Technology) competition is sponsored by NWOSU math and science departments.

The theme for the competition this year was Crossfire. Each team had to build a firefighting robot that could put out simulated fires and perform rescue. Competing against approximately 17 other teams, the Burlington team won 2nd for the game activity, 3rd for the Heartland BEST award and also...
