ALVA. Okla. – Following a historic opening conference weekend for the Northwestern Oklahoma State women's basketball team, sophomore Jakeria Otey has been named the Great American Conference Player of the Week recipient.

Otey led the Lady Rangers to their first 2-0 conference start since joining the GAC with wins over Henderson State and Ouachita Baptist. Otey averaged just over 20 points per game in the two contests and sparked the Ranger offense to 15 three pointers in Saturday's game against Ouachita, the most made by a single team in a game this year in the conference.
