Woman accused of pushing into house, trying to take child

A Cherokee woman was charged Nov. 22 in an incident that occurred in September. Leslie Jovan McDonald, 45, has been charged with burglary in the first degree, attempted child stealing and child abuse by injury, all felonies.

A warrant has been issued for her arrest. The first charge is punishable by imprisonment for seven to 20 years; the second by a fine of up to $250 or imprisonment for up to five years or both fine and imprisonment; the third is punishable by imprisonment for not more than life or a fine of not less than $500 nor more than $5,000 or both fine and imprisonment.
