Sunday, Dec. 3, was the first Sunday of Advent. The order of services at Freedom United Methodist Church was:

The Light of Christ and candles lit by Shay Wilson and Brooke Denham

Call to Worship led by Pastor Paul

Hymn “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel,” verse 1

Opening Prayer led by Pastor Paul

Lighting of the Advent Wreath participants were: Reader 1 – Shirley Wagner, Reader 2 – Peg Nixon, Reader 3 – Lori Louthan. Ronna Wilson did the final reading as Shay Wilson lit the first advent candle.

The chorus of “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” was sung.
