Burlington girls defeat Timberlake 41-31

The Burlington girls defeated Timberlake 41-31 in the first game of the Northwestern Prep Classic Thursday. Scoring was close in the first quarter with the Burlington Lady Elks leading 11-10. Timberlake’s Lady Tigers added 6 points in the second period, but Burlington still led 19-16 at the half. Timberlake outscored Burlington in the third quarter by 8 to 6, cutting the Elks’ lead to 25-24. But Burlington was hot in the final period, putting 16 points on the board to Timberlake’s 7.
