Brown collects player of the week honors
December 15, 2017
ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern Oklahoma State basketball player Bailey Brown received Great American Conference Player of the Week Honors following her contributions to the team's two non-conference victories over Oklahoma Christian and Newman University.
Brown's award gives the Lady Rangers their second player of the week performer after Jakeria Otey took home the honor earlier in the season.
A freshman out of Enid, Okla., Brown has continued to develop into a reliable scoring and defensive presence throughout the early portions of her Ranger career. That improvement culminated in a week that saw her score 21 points in both wins over Oklahoma Christian and Newman while also grabbing nine and ten rebounds during the games.
Brown shot 64% (16-of-25) from the field throughout the week and tacked on nine more points by way of the free throw line. Her offensive efforts contributed to a 98-point offensive performance for the Lady Rangers on Dec. 5, the most points scored by the program in a single game since the 2013-14 season.
Brown and the Lady Rangers will enjoy a well-earned break after a successful beginning to their season, and will get back on the court on Jan. 4 against Southern Arkansas inside Percefull Fieldhouse.
