Inmate charged with bringing marijuana into jail

An inmate at the Woods County Jail has been charged with a felony involving marijuana. Michael Lynn Freeman, 48, of Osage was charged Dec. 20 with bringing contraband (marijuana) into the jail. The felony is punishable by imprisonment in the state penitentiary for one to five years, or a fine of $100 to $1,000, or both such fine and imprisonment.

According to court papers, on Dec. 8 about 5:45 p.m. Woods County Jailer Jonathan McBride reported to Deputy David Cummings that he noticed the odor of burning marijuana while delivering inmate meals. He said the odor was coming from the south side wh...
