Sunday morning, as I was preaching from Luke 9, I made special emphasis of a rebuke – given by Jesus to his close companions, James and John. It seems the “sons of thunder” were convinced that they should call down a little fire from heaven to punish a Samaritan village that would not give Jesus a place to spend the night. The King James version (as well as the New King James that I use in the pulpit) include the phrase, “you don’t know what kind of spirit you are of.” It was this particular phrase I chose to expand.
