Sen. Roland Pederson said the most dramatic observation of his first year as District 19 State Senator was the vast knowledge needed.

"Most of us have served on a board in our lives," he said. "It might be the co-op board or a church board. You only needed to focus on the duties of that one board. There are more than 60 state boards and they all want your ear and to educate you on what they do. My learning curve continues and I have not comprehended everything I need to know."
